About Pancreatic Cancer Action

Pancreatic Cancer Action was founded by a rare survivor of the disease, Ali Stunt, in 2010. The charity's mission is to improve early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer and improve the quality of life for those affected by the disease. PCA aims to achieve this by:

  • Raising awareness of the signs and symptoms with the public.

  • Providing patients with free information they can trust.

  • Funding research developing an early detection method to improve early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.

  • Providing resources and free e-learning to healthcare professionals.

  • Campaigning and lobbying the government and other influencers to improve awareness of the issues surrounding pancreatic cancer. 

About Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund

Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund is dedicated to enabling the discovery and development of new treatments, ways to make exsisting treatments more effective, and ways to diagnose the disease earlier.  Since 2004, PCRF has committed over £10 million to support cutting edge research across the UK and Ireland.

This includes:

  • Enabling pioneering approaches such as immunotherapy, virotherapy new imaging techniques and drug delivery technologies.

  • Launching the world's first national pancreas tissue bank to accelerate research into the disease.

  • Progressing early research towards clinical trials, including a potential urine-based early diagnostic test.

  • Supporting talented early career scientists to ensure e next generation of pancreatic cancer researchers.
