An Evening with John Barnes

A Legendary Night in Support of NIPANC

NIPANC is delighted to invite you to An Evening with John Barnes, a very special fundraising event taking place on Friday 13 March 2026 at the Stormont Hotel, Belfast.

This promises to be an unforgettable night of fine dining, football stories, and exclusive experiences — all in support of pancreatic cancer awareness and patient support across Northern Ireland.

A Night with a Football Icon

John Barnes is more than a football legend — he is one of the most influential players ever to wear the Liverpool and England shirts. Rising to prominence in the 1980s, Barnes dazzled fans with his pace, skill, and intelligence on the pitch.

At Liverpool FC, he won multiple league titles, FA Cups, and was twice named PFA Players’ Player of the Year. For England, he earned over 75 caps and famously lit up international tournaments with unforgettable performances. Beyond his playing career, Barnes has remained a respected voice in football as a coach, pundit, and advocate for equality in sport.

On this evening, guests will have the rare opportunity to hear Barnes share stories from his remarkable career — from dressing room tales to defining moments on the world stage.

Fine Dining and Exclusive Experiences

Guests will enjoy a luxurious three-course meal in elegant surroundings at the Stormont Hotel. The evening will also feature a silent auction, including two specially signed Liverpool shirts — a must-have for any true fan.

Why This Event Matters

Funds raised from the evening will support NIPANC’s vital work:

  • Raising awareness of pancreatic cancer across Northern Ireland

  • Providing direct support to patients and families facing diagnosis

  • Funding research into earlier detection and improved treatments

Pancreatic cancer remains one of the toughest cancers to diagnose and treat. Early awareness and strong patient support networks can make a profound difference — and events like this help us move closer to that goal.
